OKNO 2026. Post-artistic practices and surroundings
Session II – Szczecin/Komuna Theatre/Warszawa

October part of the project OKNO 2026 – cycle of initiatives situated on
the border of artistic, culture-making, social, and activist work, and building relations with various communities –focuses on interactions and exchange with Komuna Warszawa Theatre.

It’s not an accidental choice. Thirty years old (this year) Komuna Warszawa Theatre (previously Komuna Otwock) is one of the most important, independent centers of performative arts in Poland, currently
working in a pioneer, social formula of a culture institution. It’s a production house, a presentation stage, a place for performative residencies, and a center for realizing urban activity program. Its creators focus on supporting artistic activities that cross genre borders, explore new opportunities as a part of their disciplines, propose innovative forms that connect the worlds of dance, performance, theatre, music, visual arts, and architecture.
